Cloud Online Backup Security
The security and reliability of our cloud online backup system takes the highest priority. Multiple layers of security are provided to ensure that your data can be accessed only by you.
File Encryption
All data is encrypted using AES encryption before it even leaves your PC/Server. Data is encrypted using a key known only to you. The content of your backup remains unreadable without the correct key - even by BackupVault staff.
Warning: Never forget your encryption key! Without it we will be unable to restore your data!
Connection & Transfer
The backup software at the customer's premises connects to our backup servers over the Internet using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). This is the same kind of encryption used by all online banking transactions. Once the account has been authorised, the encrypted data is sent securely over the Internet to our storage servers.
Datacenter Physical Security
BackupVault uses two datacenters provided by Connections4London and Redstation. Both datacenters feature the highest level of physical security and safety, including:

- Secure & gated access to authorised personnel only
- Fully Alarmed
- Fire Suppression System
- N+1 Redundant Battery & Power Backup
