How Online Backup Works
Initial Backup
Stage 1
An initial backup set is created of the files you have selected.
Stage 2
Files are sent compressed over the Internet using SSL encryption
to our secure datacenter.
Stage 3
Files are received at our BackupVault Datacenter and encrypted
using 448but Blowfish encryption.
Stage 4
The backup servers are mirrored to another physically
separate mirror datacenter every 15 minutes.
Subsequent Backups
Once the initial backup has completed, further backups can
be performed using incremental patching. Only part of the
file that has changed will be backed up - saving over 98%
of bandwidth utilisation.
Restoring Backups
File restoration is simply the opposite of a backup - files
can be easily selected with just the click of the mouse and
restored back to your system securely from our datacenter.
You will also have the opportunity to recover up to 30 days
of different file versions - something that has been almost
impossible using tape based technology.
For the restoration of large amounts of data, we also offer
a disaster recover service. Contact
us for more details.
