View Attix5 log files using the LogViewer

Whilst you can easily view the log files using the Attix5 Pro backup client software, sometimes it is not practical. For example, you may want to view and analyse an Attix5 log file on a computer other than the one the backup software is running. Or the backup software is currently running and therefore the log tab is unavailable.

To get around this you can use the Attix5 LogViewer executable file. Note that this log viewer is only available as a Windows exe file.

To download and run the Attix5 LogViewer

  1. Click here to download the LogViewer file.
  2. Unzip the file to your desktop and double click on LogViewer.exe
  3. Click on File, Edit and navigate to the location of the Attix5 log file directory. This is usually at C:\Program Files\Attix5 Pro\Backup Client SE\logs.
  4. Click on the log file you wish to view and click Open.

Log files are labelled in a date format with a specific file extension. For example a backup log created during a backup run on 23/09/14 at 15:37 would be called 20140914153749.log. Logs where a backup has been performed end in .log, whilst a restore log ends in .rlog.
